Summer 2025 an the third child gender

 There are much to be written almost every week on this diary. Just having the time and discipline to sit down and write it has been hard. 

There were mixed emotion in anticipation of the gender of the third child. Extended family are hoping for a boy, would be the only boy the in Lam family. Having a girl would perhaps a little disappointing to say the most for the grandpa. There is excitement in this anticipation, but there is also a feeling of burden on this expectation. 

If it comes true, there is such a chance in family dynamic. Having the only boy, and the youngest, who will get all the attention, pampering and perhaps spoiling. With those special treatment would make an appearing that those older sisters aren't loved as much. They have such so dear to me that even those thought of preferential treatment of my own or other family members disturb me. As they grew older, what if it induces jealousy between the genders because of the adult behavior. Those thoughts bothered me to think about.

It was a relief to find out that she was a girl. Smart kids they are. I thought they all are "smart" to choose their female gender. Being a girl in America has been making enormous progress in the last century. Of course there are recent sat back. However, the expectation of both career centric and family men is now lay burden upon the male. It is a very difficult balancing act to be the best at both. Being a family centric person is very much enjoyable, it is delightful. It has it up and down but it is a reward that keep on giving. It is really the meaning of life. Been a female, family come first. It is a good thing. It is not forced upon you. but it is a natural choice. Society don't expect you have to be career driven as well. It is a nice to have. While being a male, you must be well establish, sometime at the expense of being a family man. If family is truly the meaning of life, being a female is a better choice.
